With the market down over 259 points (2.36%), these are my "value" buys. They are selling at multi year lows and to me have value in the assets they own, special niche market potential and continue to grow their grow their BV. Ultrapetrol (Bahamas) Limited(NasdaqGS: ULTR) - Stock now selling close to three year lows (2009 levels). Company announced a 4 year iron ore shipping contract along with 12 new Barge builds. They recently issued a convertible bond offering (converts at $7.50/share common) providing sufficient capital for their expansion and fleet upgrades leaving sufficient capital for continued operations. They serve a niche River shipping sector and PSV fleet that services PBR offshore wells. Upped my position with small buy yesterday. Magnum Hunter Resources Corpora(NYSE: MHR) - Another add of MHR. Undervalued assets perhaps as much as 50%. Market is currently pricing many of the E&P assets at lower levels due to fears of much lower oil prices. My main interest is in their Mid Stream subsidiary which I figure is now valued at the current market cap or around $340M. You basically get the 8000 boepd of reserves for free. NOBLE GROUP LTD(Other OTC: NOBGF.PK) - First time I ever picked this one up for under $1.00/share. Company is selling close to BV of $0.73/share, ROE is around 17%. Company continues to grow their BV buying productive assets all over the world. These company should be survivors and could go lower before they move higher. So all of my buys are small and hopefully close to the current lows. EKS
