Brokerage accounts are about to start hurting too imo unless they get those account interest rates up.

I think there's tons of them out there that seldom trade the money due to small balances, high fees, or risk aversion.

I'd like to see Congress enact some remedial legislation to allow combining small balance retirement accounts. Surprised the industry hasn't thought of this. I suspect there are a lot of these accounts since the bubble days. Haven't thought this through much though.
