I am not a partisan. I voted for Clinton, twice. As a centrist, with balance, energy, vision, and intellect. I also voted for Reagan and Bush, once each. Reagan for cutback of Democratic ideological but failed projects. But then felt he wasn't fully there, and had come to be too controlled by ideologies. Bush was a very good cold war edgy foreign policy, and a great War President, but manifestly had absolutely no domestic agenda. Certainly none that sirred my boat.
Republicans such as Barr, and McCollum(sp?) from Florida, turn my stomach. I rather like McCan. (Don't even know where he is on this.) I have mixed feelings about Utah's Orin Hatch. He is clearly trying to act above immediate passions. He also starts from a very conservative place. I think he may well turn out to be a Republican Statesman here. As Senator Lieberman may turn out to be a Democratic Statesman.

I very much like Giuliani, though not everything he does. His jaywalking campaign, in the context of NYC culture, is a bit off the wall. And most of the city told him so. The conditions of NYC are different from most other cities in the US, and in the city core, the pedestrian is king. And drivers know this. It doesn't lead to a lot of accidents, in unagrivated circumstances (police chases, etc.). Anyone who spends even 10 min in Manhattan in a car feels this. And, actually, acts accordingly. Which is why it works. Before and after Giuliani.
His taxi crackdown, on the other hand (to pick a second minor, but socially contentious issues within a history of much uncontested success), seemed to me and most New Yorkers to be fully justified. We've put up with a lot in the name of tolerance for too long. But overall, like him a lot. Voted for him. Expect to again.
