It is possible that at night a dog and cat come to my house and create dust balls
I believe this clandestine subversive infiltration happens frequently, far more than we suspect. Indeed, yesterday I found a large clump of grey cat hair on my kitchen counter. We don't have a grey cat. I can only conclude that sometime in the night a grey cat came in specifically to do some serious dustball creation but was frightened off, either by our ungrey cats, or my husband's snoring. Who knows what kind of nasty dustballs he would have left had he had time to finish the job.
Of course, no one believes a woman who makes these claims.
Lazy slut, they think. Just admit your sloth and start sweeping.
