Ebay was just not a stock you could get into at the bottom, expect a puny bit of Etrade shares (not so puny now, damn!!) :) I remember MONTH's seeing a guy on CNBC saying that EBAY would dwarf Broadcast.com's performance and that really caught my attention. NEVER has anyone ever tried to worm his way into an IPO (EBAY) like I did!! Even got through to a lead manager at Goldman Sachs. Really had him going until he hit me with the "So, I take it you have an established account with us with a substantial trading history and a minimum five million dollar balance?"* I did not know what to say. What could I say? I just started laughing - we were both laughing. I said, "Comeon, I've got a real good feeling about this stock!! vb
