PCCW to Launch Restructured Pay TV Service in Q1: Paper Jan 16, 2001 - 10:09:49 HKT Quamnet News Service Pacific Century Cyberworks (0008) will introduce a restructured pay TV business -- temporarily called Pacific Century TV (PCTV) -- this quarter, the Apple Daily News reported, without naming its sources. PCTV is a merged business with PCCW's interactive television unit iTV and PCCW doesn't plan to operate a production center to produce the content itself, the paper said. Meantime, the restructured iTV service will cut its basic monthly fee to less than HK$200 from currently HK$238, the paper said. Separately, PCCW said in a statement that it isn't aware of any reasons for the recent decrease in its price and increase in its trading volume. It said there are no negotiations or agreements relating to intended acquisitions or realizations which are discloseable. quamnet.com
