Rich--I think that you make a valid point -- even though I was one of the culprits this go around.

Having been with this thread almost since its inception, I have seen it evolve through several phases. There was a time when it was solely about options and then it into other facets of trading and then some non-trading issues.

I know that it is frustrating at times because I experience it as well--especially when I am gone for a couple of days and then have to wade through 300 posts the vast majority of which have nothing to do with the market. I know that there are at least a couple of informed individuals who refuse to participate on this thread for this very reason.

I personally do look at every single post--but I am very good at skimming and so more often than not I can click on the "next" button without missing a beat. The positive side of this tendency to these diversions is that it has built up a camarderie between the regulars that is quite remarkable--and it helps to overcome the otherwise clinical aspect of trading and posting about trading.

Not sure what the solution is in terms of how one deals with this inherent contradiction.
