Some people think it's all free care, when nothing could be further from the truth. People who are not on medicaid get a bill for their care. Some pay it, some don't. And those who don't get their credit ruined or get hauled into court. The fact that hospitals have 20-30% uncollectible doesn't mean they don't try to collect it all.
