Much hangs on Nikon's current strength in digital SLR cameras and its ability to launch compelling models as competition heats up with Canon and rivals including Sony Corp and Olympus Corp, Nikon executives and analysts said.

I bought a Nikon D60 SLR with VR lenses last year and it is amazing how well it works in automatic mode where I don't have to think hard to get a great photograph in difficult light.

One of my first shots taken last year in Baja

Taken Tue in my driveway (new van to carry my windsurfing gear )

The advance of technology is stunning when you think how much work and $ it used to take to get good photos....

The advance in what a smart phone will do, I and many others predicted over 10 years ago.... but to see it in action... STUNNING! The quality of a short Video my brother shot in difficult light as I tested smoke detectors in a house we sold before closing with his iPhone then he uploaded it to the internet to document it...... was like Star Trek came to 2009!

We tend to forget just how much Moore's law enables.
