this is very interesting since it comes to us out of california. in my head i juxtapose the search of a suspect's cellphone against the request to see a photo id proof of citizenship. it just seems strange in kali an appellate court would reason it is ok to search a suspect's cellphone, but a court in kali would not reason that it is ok to ask a suspect at a traffic stop to show proof of citizenship.
