No, I've never worked for AT&T. I simply have had bad experiences with AT&T:
Some years ago, I bought an answering machine at an AT&T phone center which could not detect aI dial tone. If someone called and hung up w/o leaving a message, my tape would have 3 minutes of dial tone recorded each time. Now Lucent has shut down that business because they were really selling substandard stuff, not at all what you'd expect from the inventors of the transistor, laser, CCD and all those other things that make our nation proud.
Despite my efforts to stop them, AT&T telemarkers constantly call trying to get me to switch long distance companies. A few months ago they switched me to AT&T without my consent, costing me time, money and aggravation to switch back.
Despite the fact that I have (had) an AT&T Universal Card and an AT&T Wireless account, I could not consolidate the bills by charging the Wireless to the Universal thus saving myself from having to pay the same company twice each month.
I could go on, but this is the NEXTEL thread, and none of this has anything to do with NEXTEL. My position is very simple. Like Motorola, McCaw, Chase and JP Morgan, I like NEXTEL, I have invested my hard earned money in their success, and hope to profit from NEXTEL's eventual dominance in PCS. My opinion of AT&T is secondary to all of this. You, on the other hand, will profit as long as the PCS industry grows, no matter which player dominates. I think we all agree that the industry is poised to take off. I have placed my bet on who will be the winner. Now lets spin the wheel! |
