New mIRC Version All, Just a reminder that there is a new mIRC at the download site ... Version 5.4 geocities.com It is worth downloading and installing as there are 170 bug fixes and minor changes. John PS - Today I downloaded and installed a little program that speeded up my internet packet transfers on Win 98 between 50 and 100 percent. It seems that the default winsock values in Windows are a compromise to allow access via lans, etc as well as modems. hotfiles.zdnet.com This program does change the Win 95/98 register, but I didn't have any trouble myself. However, it is freeware, so use it at your own risk. It is important to write down the default windows values when you first load it, in case you want to restore them.
