Biotechs Boomed again yesterday. Although they broke their streak
of top ten sectors for the day, their 1.7% gain moved them to the
#15 slot, from #22 yesterday, and #36 on Monday. They were #180 (out
of 197) about a month ago. They certainly are headed towards regaining
their #1 ranking which they held a year ago. Yesterday's gain raised
the year to date gain to 5.7% which is the 5th best among the 197 groups.
The IBD summary noted the move by including BGEN, KDUS, and GERN
in their NASDAQ summary (and they once again posted INCY's chart).
52-week highs were set by KDUS, VRTX, GERN, BTGC, ALKS, AGPH, INCY,
and ALRIZ. The Greatest % Rise In Volume Table also had its share
of Biotechs. KDUS headed the list and it was joined by GILD, SUGN,
VRTX, GERN, PCYC, SQNA, MLNM, BTGC, OXGN, ARQL, ALKS, and NRGN.
AGPH CEO is scheduled to appear on CNBC this morning and the H&Q
conference is keeping investors focused on Biotechs.
