I just had to comment.A quick perusal of these DD threads find massive doom and gloom .A key point being missed is that many people myself included have been increasing their storage capacity massivly over the last few months.software just takes up more space. It may be that gross profit margins are decreasing but i just don't feel that people are content with their disk drive capacity.I can't see demand dropping as some analysts suggest.
Secondly with share prices so low, some consolidation is very possible. If i was One of the majors,i would certainly like to buy out my competitor at a bargain basement low. This also goes along with what i've found to be true-buying at maximum pain levels usually works out in the medium term;a corallory of which is buy when the analysts start pummelling the corpse-which of course they always do after the fact.(gee it takes a lot of i.q. to be an analyst.)Short term there may be slightly more pain, but these billion dollar DD's are not far from price appreciation imho.,
