I never had a problem with killing Al-Qaeda's American soldiers.

I never had the opportunity.

As an experienced close combat veteran I despise the notion that the POTUS can personally order the death of any American.
This is a slippery and dangerous slope. Given unlimited authority, history teaches it is very difficult for some to stop killing.
Who is going to tell POTUS - no you can't kill that citizen or those citizens?
When does he give our police the same right?

Think about Stalin, Hitler, Pol Pot, and so many others. They all had a secret and extremely capable military force that answered to them.
They all began their murderous killing spree with one person, and there was no one to stop them.

When the most powerful politician in the world controls the most powerful secret military unit in the world, there is risk.
