Ashley, recommended option strategy reading: "Options as a Strategic Investment," author, Lawrence G. McMillan. Referred to as OSI, this text is widely regarded as the bible of options fundamentals. The text discusses stock/index options (with some futures strategy), introducing basic concepts as well as more sophisticated spreads, hedges. A distinguishing characteristic of OSI is that it offers "follow-up action" -- which IMO is the most important facet of consistently profitable trading. Also worth reading is "McMillan on Options" (same author). HOWEVER, this text does not provide follow-up action. Also, the layout is less reference oriented.
