Not really Clint, I understood what you were trying to say and I was being facetious -- because I was more bothered with your edit than the original post. It seemed to suggest that being a "trader" had a derogatory connotation to it and when you chose to make your point in the context of my handle, it seemed a bit petty, if not judgemental.

>>What I meant to say is that the title of "trader" doesn't bother you since you chose that as your alias<<

No, the title of "trader" does not bother me a bit -- that is after all what I do when I trade stocks and futures.

>>However, I don't like to be called, "Clint, the trader", "Clint, the scalper ", "Clint, the Yo Yo player". Not that you personally called me any of these titles but I have heard of others on this thread who have<<

Clint, I realized exactly why you reacted the way that you did -- remember that we have chatted from time to time for quite a while. I know that you have taken offense at others who have chosen to label your style of trading. As for myself, I really don't pass value judgements on how others choose to trade--to each his own, I say. I rather envy those who are nimble traders and can do it successfully.

>>If you read your post(I read it once more) you talk about me being good at "my style of trading", mention some others(I know only two of them), and then start talking about short-term trading<<

My reference to "style of trading" was entirely innocuous -- let's face it each of us develops a style of trading, whether it is day-trading, short-term, medium term, long-term -- and what each of these terms mean is subject to varying interpretaions.

>>As far as this is all being about making money....No, Tom. For me it is not just about making money<<

I think that this is where you are being a shade disingenuous. I recall about a year ago --may be longer--you posted in response to someone who categorized your style of trading -- something to the effect that "what does it matter, since I am able to achieve as much as x% return each month with my style of trading"--not your precise words but that was the gist of it. Now I agreed with you regarding this, at the time, when I read it and you were in effect stating in essence what I said to you in my recent post. I saw your posting to Ratan regarding "excellence" being what you were seeking to achieve. I suspect most serious "traders" do try to achieve excellence -- I know that I also look to get some "fun" out of it.

>>I think we both should understand each other a bit more and I think I was able to voice my sensitivity<<

As I said, I am glad that you voiced your opinion though I am sorry that it upset several people. I know that you posted it to me -- but in as much as you made a general posting on this thread, you were disparaging, by implication--whether you intended to or not--others whose trading style might be different than yours.

I am happy to put this behind us -- if only because I know that you did not intend any offense. Besides, I know that you used the handle of Clint Eastwood before Clint E and I know what I am up against, as evinced by this link--and know my limitations:)
