How can you then turn around and tell people that nukes are good for them? More importantly, do you think people are going to believe you?

Many will.

But other won't and some of them will be quite vocal.

The mina problem with nuclear right now is the expense, but new technologies can lower that while increasing safety, and as gas and oil go up in price nuclear's expense might eventually be lower.

I'm not for a massive government push with huge subsidies. I think if the government doesn't block it eventually nuclear will grow as an energy source. It already provides a decent percentage of our electrity.

If it doesn't grow in the US, at least it will grow elsewere, most likely in China which is going to need a lot of new energy in the comming decades.
