I have been ranting for years about our JAG inspired ROE's and the criminalization of war.

And I have agreed with you. I think we both have a good handle how Americans used to keep America free.

To stay free, America's military concept of using overwhelming force to prevail on battlefields was essential. Defeating the enemy to the point of unconditional surrender was always our military war mission. Our politicians determined when our liberties were threatened and war was necessary. Ending the war via a military and political defeat of our opponents became the goal of our politicians and military. Our military are the experts on how to use force to prevail on battlefields and they did that up to and including WW II.

Where did all that go?
I can answer that. We lost that concept in Korea and never regained it.

Now we have a weenie for American President who travels the world apologizing for the actions we have previously taken to defend ourselves from attacks and assaults. He should be using all the lawyers he hired to define the war crimes of our opponents instead of weakening our military responses to attack by changing the Rules Of Engagement.

We need a president who vows to maintain our freedom by maintaing our strength, by increasing our military strengths where necessary, and who will put our opponents on notice that we will tolerate no shenanigans that cause death or injury to our military or our civilians. And that anyone who inflicts or attempts to inflict harm on us will pay dearly for their mistakes. Then he needs to enforce those statements harshly when necessary by using overwhelming military force until we prevail.

None of this is about revenge. It is about protecting and defending the Constitution of The United States which every US politician solemnly swears to do when he/she takes office.
