Emory, That's not 100% accurate. We do know for certain that a significant part of the reason as to why the EdHeads are increasing the authorized is because Syquest does not currently have enough shares available to cover the conversion of all existing options and warrants.

(Although they have "only" about 62 million shares issued and outstanding, they have accounted for more than all the 120 million shares currently authorized.)

Without the increase they could be put in the awkward position of having to make up any future shortfall with hard green cash, which of course they just might not have. Beyond that, we can only speculate, however I think it's safe to assume that they'll continue to use shares as a cash substitute until they can turn a profit.
