That was enough to convince me that messing around in Africa is a really, really, bad idea. Americans just do not understand much at all about the continent of Africa. We don't understand the politics, we don't understand the tribalism, and we don't understand the sheer size of the place. Our Army Special Forces understand Africa quite well. The 3rd Special Forces Group has focused on Africa since the group was first organized in the 60s. I was an E-6 in A Co in 66-67. Left there to go to OCS.
