Oracle8 still in pole position

Databases are as essential to the enterprise as automobiles are to a
Californian: We all need one, and business or life is unworkable without them. Enterprises that contain hefty online transaction processing or data-warehousing requirements will find Oracle8.0.3 Enterprise Edition to be right on target.

This release of the Mercedes of the database market continues to show great strength in scaling well in large settings due to its added support for partitioned tables and connection pooling and multiplexing. I tested this version of Oracle8 with an eye toward the pending interim 8.0.4 release of the database.
