<<Where would you go long on BRKS, or would you?>>

I'm not taking true positions right now. I'm convinced the sector is going to move sideways for a while and I'm trying to make some money on technical trades, so I keep the trading ranges of about 20 issues. I short the ones at the top of their range and buy the ones at the bottom, albeit with a tendency to short the weaker ones and buy the strong ones. However, most of the really weak ones can't be shorted.

Right now I wouldn't touch Brooks long. I'll wait until it establishes a technical range and let it bounce once. I'm willing to take a chance with EGLS -- i.e. not waiting to see if it hits a new bottom -- because I'd be willing to hold it long to make a good profit. You know good and well that, absent some catastrophe, it will be in the 30's within 18 months, and will probably show some legs a lot earlier.

Don't get down on short-term trading. I can hold 'em with the best. I rode Asyst all the way down from 30 to 16 (pre-split), averaging down. Then I got to ride it up! :) It just looks to be dead money for a while. Plus, short term trading is HARD WORK!
