Unfortunately, I think it's going to take another event of the magnitude of 9/11 to make this truth sink in. So, the answer to getting everyone on one page is for the terrorists to scare the shit out of us once again, for us to be damaged once again. How about, as an alternative, the President reach out to those folks, come up with an approach that includes the creativity and buy-in from a broader spectrum? What a concept! Makes no sense to me to prefer an attack to showing some flexibility and collegiality.
