David - An IOM ad doesn't have to appeal to you. They are probably targeting the profile of their best potential customers. Sorry if I sounded excessively egocentric, but it's not me as an individual that I hope to see IOM try to reach. I just think that I am representative of IOM's most lucrative potential customers - someone who has no need for backup data storage but does want the ability to play around with and store audio-video "stuff". The CD-RW looks like something that I would consider buying if I haven't already bought a Zip or Jaz. I just hope that IOM is the first company out of the block to get me to buy their product.
