If it "applies even now", then we get sick--the curse of the law--
when we break them. That is precisely what Shalom meant and means.
Getting sick from eating shrimp or catfish is a curse of the law.
The curse of the law comes from sin. Shalom continues to teach
this exact doctrine because he simply does not understand the
consequences of his teachings. He is teachings things from his
own heart and not what God has given him to teach.
