Ronald, great link.
To answer your question.....MRVC is located in Northern California. But I guess the question you wanted to know was where were they on the link you provided. Now that I am done being a smartass. Good question. Needless to say I have no answer. However, while I was browsing for a brief minute, this little piece popped up in front of me. I am curious what all of you think....
<<<The XLNT Velocity product will debut at Networld+Interop in Las Vegas next May, with availability due shortly after. The company will price the new switch at less than $6,500 per port for FDDI, less than $750 per port for 10/100 Ethernet, and less than $3,750 per port for Gigabit Ethernet with repeater features.
By January of 1998, the company expects to drive down the per-port costs of Gigabit Ethernet to less than $1,500.>>>
Interesting. XLNT is debuting in May at the Las Vegas Interop. This sounds like great news to us MRVC holders considering MRVC(Nbase) has already shown their 1gig product. Not to mention they were the only one with a working model. Also, in another article they mentioned that most of the 1gig products would be brought out in the first half of next year. That is also welcome news. That gives us that much more time to sell our product and get on to the next generation. Did all of you notice the price of the XLNT switch? Dan isnt this a bit higher than MRVC's price? MRVC has also made mention that the cost to manufacture their product will be going down, and they expect their sales price of the product to also move downward in time thus keeping them one step ahead in the marketplace and profits to a maximum. Ronald, I really am not all that concerned that MRVC or Nbase does not show up on that sight. I would rather have them continue being the first to the marketplace with a better price and continue their efforts in R&D and sales versus having their name plastered about and trailing the leaders.
By the way, wheres Lucas? I hope I didnt scare him off. If so, my appologies. I will not press the issue of our wager anymore. My satisfaction, or his, will come when we see the quarterlies. Guess Dan lucked out. He doesnt have to carry anyones golf bag(not that he would anyway).
