Mountain View, CA, March 31, 1999 VeriSign, Inc. (Nasdaq: VRSN) announced today that its board of directors has approved a two-for-one split of its common stock. Stockholders will receive one additional share for every share held on the record date of May 14, 1999. The stock split requires stockholder approval of an increase in the Company's authorized number of shares at its 1999 Annual Meeting of Stockholders. The payable date will be after the close of market on May 28, 1999, following stockholder approval. The Company's stock will begin trading on a split-adjusted basis on May 31, 1999.
