Khris -

I find Intel's emphasis on building the market for video conferencing to be an extremely strong selling point on Intel's future. In a few years, almost all computers sold into corporations should have video conference capability. Once people in the business world are speaking to each other via their computers, many will want to get a video conference-capable machine for their home.

My belief is that this trend will end with Intel-standard computers replacing the telephone! With a market that size, Intel won't reach the market saturation level for a very long time.

Are there any thoughts on what Intel's hurdles will be to achieve this? Will ISDN lines be sufficient or must people pay for something more expensive? Will ATT counter-attack when everyone starts placing long distance calls over the Internet? Will machine prices be too high to make it practical? Will cable televisions become telephones instead? Etc.
