I never feared Saddam except for awhile when Bush first exaggerated his dangers. I actually trusted Bush at first, but then I saw through it. If you all remember what I was posting 9 months ago, it was that Saddam was a paper tiger and it was a phony scare tactic. I was right.

Saddam being out is a mixed bag. If we give Iraq anything like a democracy it's a Muslim state. If we don't, they rebel. They will try to kill us every chance they get. The Kurds and the Turks are at odds. The Sunnis get along with no one. The Shiites are split and their main guy was just assassinated in a MOSQUE bombing. By who? We don't even know. It's a total mess. Saddam may actually turn out to have been a lesser evil. We don't know yet.

Remember, Saddam was once armed by the Reagan administration and Rumsfield was the point man. Ironic huh? Makes you wonder. And if not for the oil, would we be there? No. And look at gas prices. Higher than ever. We've been rooked, by friend. Lied to and cheated again by the Bushies. Or more accurately, the Cheneyites.
