there's corruption everywhere, even in U.S. government, in both Obama and Bush governments.
The corruption in Brazil is not increasing, it's appearing more in the newspapers.
The gov. cannot interfere in Vale, as Bill Gates can´t interfere in Microsoft. The brazilian government alone is the biggest shareholder in Vale, considering the gov. and state pension funds, they have more than 50% of the holding that controls the company. So the government has the right to influence the company. But Vale has also important private shareholders, specially bank Bradesco.

It seems Vale was smart in selling gold before that sharp decline.
Vale has a good CEO, he was against to buy Inco and against to buy xstrata. For the good luck of shareholders, the deal with xstrata didn't work out.
