It sure is healthy to have plans for the future.

Symbian (unfortunately) is rather GSM & GPRS centric at the moment.

But ...

The same Symbian OS & development tools release (R6.2) that will enable W-CDMA capabilities will also enable CDMA development. Its a ways out and I don't know if my Palm & kludged together data cable for my audiovox will make it that long, but Symbian is one heck of a platform:

"Release 6.2 unites support for CDMA, W-CDMA and TDMA air interfaces and vastly more ambitious Bluetooth support, chiefly for accepting inbound requests, but also for object and application exchange. Although 6.1 will handle the US-centric air interfaces, the low level implementation is left to the developer, whereas 6.2 provide one high level abstracted API, Symbian tells us."
