My surprise had more to do with my notion that people were holding off for the housing market to bottom out. But it seems there are these folks who just can't wait to get in. Before I got my Masters in Education, I was in real estate. The buyers are the same speculators who sold at or near the top. They have been sitting on their money waiting to buy when they think the market has bottomed. They've been in the markets since July. CA is famous for this kind of action with plenty of experience in the boom/busts of housing. Next cycle, FLA will be more savvy but this time its their first real boom.
