PALM SPRINGS, Calif., May 2, 2000 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- She's Got Network, the aggressive women's portal, which is a subsidiary of Original Media (OTC BB:OMDA), Monday announced that is has launched its women's sports and gear Web site, She's Got Sports (www.ShesGotSports.com), as well as its women's political issues Web site, She's Got Vote (www.ShesGotVote.com). Jayne Newell-Lanza, founder of She's Got Network and CEO of Original Media, stated, "Our approach to She's Got Sports is uniquely different from other women's sports Web sites. We believe women should have fun, be positive and live healthy, within reason. Taking up a sport should not only be for your overall physical well-being but should also benefit you mentally with your career and personal life." She's Got Sports offers nutritional updates, exercise and fitness news, interviews with leading women athletes, as well as sports and gear columns. Newell-Lanza further stated that She's Got Network is negotiating with clothing manufacturers regarding the launch of a She's Got Sports active clothing line that will be sold through the Web site. She's Got Network further announced that the company is expanding its Cyber-Entertainment Division and has signed a letter-of-intent to acquire a women-owned production company, Amazon Films. The company is spearheaded by Brendan Shepherd and Sarah Reid. Shepherd's career includes working in television and feature film projects with Miramax, HBO, Showtime, Walt Disney Company and Buena Vista Home Entertainment. Reid has worked at NBC on shows such as Saturday Night Live, Late Night with Letterman and Phil Donahue. Reid has worked in all areas of production, including directing, producing, line producing, production managing and coordinating various film, commercial and video projects. Some include productions for Universal, and United Artists, as well as Nissan, Kellogg's, Volkswagen and Quaker Oats. Newell-Lanza said, "The demand for Internet hybrid-content shows is on the rise. She's Got Network believes with the expansion of our Cyber-Entertainment Division, we will be able to offer the consumer something different and compelling in new media content. ShesGotNetwork and Amazon Films believe there is an ever-increasing opportunity for women who can put together efficient, cost effective digital, independent film and television productions. The fast expansion of the Internet, along with the rapid growth of digital cable television to include hundreds of channels that operate 24 hours a day, means that there is now a shortage of product, especially in the form of low-cost motion pictures and syndicated television series and those specifically made for the Internet. With this acquisition, we will be able to develop content that our viewers demand. She's Got Network will be represented at the Cannes Film Festival by the attendance of Reid and Shepherd. She's Got Baby (www.ShesGotBaby.com), the leading women's Web site devoted to expectant mothers and mothers with babies and toddlers, launched its newly redesigned and expanded Web site. She's Got Baby now features topics ranging from infant care, health and medical advice, and nutrition information, to a parenting forum, a by-the-age index and toy reviews. The Board of Directors of Original Media further announced that the company has received indication that there is an interest to acquire all or part of the assets of Original Media. Therefore, the Board of Directors has decided to extend the record date of the She's Got Network spin-off until May 31, 2000, to verify the viability of the indicated interest.
