'Esfinge' means 'Sphinx', el [masculine - engineers plumbers and electricians may designate it differently] 'esfínter' = 'sphincter' ... and note the spelling of 'ano' ... this is why when writing a business letter you must be very careful to use the eñe when spelling 'año' -g-
