Dennis, I no longer keep track of PEs but I know MSFT has a higher PE than INTC and so is INTC to AMAT based on what happened in the past and I believe, will continue in the furure. That's how Investors value the stocks and will value so in the furture as long as the stocks continue to perform as Investors Expected them to do...As for AMAT, somebody posted here that the historical PE of AMAT range from 4 to 48! I actually saw a PE of 28 in 1995. As a friendly advice, I would say,---Don't short AMAT because It is expected to go up some more! I did not short AMAT in the past but it was like shorting when in 1995 (because of a devotion to PEs) I just watched AMAT, helpless and in agony, as the stock climbed from the then pre-split price of 63 to 119 3/4!...Finally I say:---Investing is the Art (not the Science where there is a formula) of Expectations!...
