re: ODIS

ODIS missed its earnings, was downgraded and fell down 45% or so.
In brief, there's Oracle/Sybase/Informix as database powerhouses
with IBM's DB2 and M$ft's SQL Server hovering out there as well.
These are yer traditional RDBMS vendors and then there's the New
Generation - object database makers ODIS and VSNT (top two vendors in the field) with VSNT going after telcos and ODIS after everyone else. ODI is also bent on doing Java and has its Java persistent store (a 'small' database) shipped with Netscape 4.x .

If you can hold it long enough, you'll be rewarded (unless they miss
earnings again :) and it does make for an excellent intraday trade (at least today).

Alex.
