I think you need to make a distinction between a private person and a public one. I would not dream of commenting on the post someone made a couple of weeks ago about a relative who had died. That was a real person and the poster was feeling real grief. Ditto the killed soldiers. A public person isn't even a person. It is shadow of a person filtered throught inumerable brains and spin campaigns. What we know is a cartoon that dances and laughs and smirks at us out of our CRTs (and lately our LEDs).
