Yeah, that Popular Science article was typical for that magazine. Little regard for a nasty little thing called "real life" is a long-standing trademark of that rag. Remember all of the flying car articles throughout the years? The article was typical in that it expressed potential for the product, but did not offer any specifics about power consumption, etc.

One other thing-- all of these portable devices would have to adopt a common platform in order to transfer cellular phone info to a Palm Pilot, no? What incentive is there for all of these companies to alter their own proprietary systems just to help Iomega (or flash card makers for that matter)? Even Microsoft has not been able to set a succesful standard with its Windows-CE(?).
