Greetings Herm,

I have been following your thread for several months. I have not posted before because I wanted to make sure that my questions or comments were not already discussed in earlier posts. So I started reading at post #1 and read every post carefully up to #572. I skipped to post #3790 and have followed from there up to the current post #4581.

Guess what? All my questions were actually answered. I must say thank you to you and the entire thread for the comprehensive and practical education on CCing. The positive, supportive, informative and interactive tone of this thread is what makes learning enjoyable.

I have been CCing & doing options since last year. The single biggest MISTAKE I have made was not always knowing exactly what my current net cost basis (NUT) was. After reviewing some of my trades, calculating the NUT at each step, I was shocked to see:
I missed many writing and covering opportunities
I raised my NUT uncessarily by buying upstrikes at the worst time
I failed to buy puts during rallies for downside protection
I didn't fully utilize or interpret Bollinger Bands, RSI & Volitily
I should have been a call writer more often and a buyer less often
I should CCed with more manageable stocks rather than high $ ones

I am presently waiting to exit some positions in a couple of less volitable stocks. I have started applying the strategies in this case study on a small scale. So far, so good!

Live long and Prosper,
4-Bob
