We are not even at the stage where we are discussing how to find ways to provide universal healthcare, we are still debating IF we should even try to find ways to provide universal healthcare for all our citizens. Something is wrong with this discussion. Couldn't agree more. And you couple that with our "twice as expensive" model, heading into a temporary demographic bubble, and there should be a real sense of urgency to find wholesale solutions. When an exclusionary ideology trumps pragmatism you will never get the best solution.
