internetwiz,

I find more problems with there trading than there bookkeeping . I have seen discrepancies but I normally wait to see if they fix them first which they normally do. The problem I see is waiting on line for ever to get a rep.

I don't know who is the best at on line trading. I have heard nightmares from everyone. If Mer. opens a online brokerage I don't think it will have any more impact than anyone else. You have to decide if its worth going through the pain of moving your account. Just cause they open one or buy an existing one isn't going to make to big of a difference to me or anyone else on line. What more can they offer compared to the rest other than free trades. I'm leery of getting something for free cause you get what you pay for.

The biggest thing will be the combination of existing Mer. customers with whoever they buy out. Some people, myself included, may not want to be a part of there company. These guys Mer, A.G. Edwards and Smith Barney have been screwing people for years with there high commissions and they are scrambling now to catch up. I would venture to say that even some of there long time old fuddy duddy customers have left the farm. Unless you got megabucks with one of these firms they are not going to call you when the market goes in the crapper. Its better to do it yourself and at the end of the day you can pat yourself on the back or kick yourself in the ass for how you did. You won't find one of there brokers to take the heat.

Rather winded, my apologies.

Whiskey
