tom, it is the apparent lack of concern for their customers that riles me regarding these analysts. i can tell you with a straight face that i'm convinced this game is more about manipulating customer perception for personal gain than it is for finding and elucidating the truth. that is what irritates me. if they don't like public flogging then they ought to do their basic homework (bring the lunchbox!). i mean, how can a dan niles be offended when flogged for wrong statements when he doesn't even care enough to read the financial reports of the companies that he follows? or, should i say, is handsomely paid to follow? he's an idiot. if he doesn't like being called one then he ought to stop being one. i don't think he cares, myself. i think he gains by his wrong statements. whether it is trading gains or job security, i don't know. i do know that i doubt his sincerity and i can't respect anybody when their sincerity is in doubt.
