Making money on broadband

At this time two years ago I thought that broadband would be the next big moneymaker. With internet use exploding, I figured that more people would want faster access and those companies involved in broadband in some shape or form would do well, and their stock prices would reflect it. There seemed to be a number of ways to play this area, such as the equipment makers, the network builders, the retail service providers, and all points in between.

Today I read an article that got me thinking about it again.

With the the collapse of the naz last year, increased competition, reduced capex by the telcos, takeovers, breakups, bankruptcies, and many others factors, this area hasn't taken off like I thought it would. But despite all the abovementioned factors, one fact is clear: the number of broadband subscribers has continually grown and is still growing each year.

My question for the board is which companies in the next year or two will profit the most from the increased use of broadband, and reflect that profit in their stock prices? Any thoughts anyone?
