The REAL fun is about to begin!

How many dozens of new public companies will now adopt a business model of patenting a faulty and/or unpopular product or technology, only to make their REAL profits by suing other companies who have successful products for infrigement?

It's amazing that nobody thought of this sooner: Ford could have sued GM for infringing on the Edsel with the Corvette. Sony could have sued Phillips for infringing on Beta with VHS.

This is, of course, the logical next step up from the "patenting air" scheme pioneered by Amazon and Doubleclick. Now, you don't even have to invent something that works well in order to profit off of other's success!

Yet another sign that the bubble ain't over yet. Welcome to Alan G's Casino. Place your bets, gentlemen!

(I ain't short. I'm just an engineer. Shaking my head over the silliness of this, and a court of law bamboozled into this nonsense...)
