Glenn, I would go with cable if it was available. But so far I have heard nothing that indicates cable internet is coming to my area. I found out that yesterday one company "turned on" unmetered local x2 access for $29.95/mo, which I would happily pay, except that another company is turning on the same service next week for $19.95/mo ($240/year). Dwight, The ISPs here do not charge extra for x2. The $19.95 seems to be the going price and x2 works fine. I only switched because cable was made available and it is better yet. The article that Jeffery posted stated that cable access will never be implimented due to difficulties in implimentation. I took exception to that statement in the article and although ADSL is coming, cable will be coming too and cable is still faster than ADSL to the best of my knowledge. I kept my account with my other ISP provider so that I would have dial-up access when not here in my office. Also, I live in a small and what seems to be a progessive technology town, and I feel I should financially support the ISPs since we had no local access two years ago. A long distance phone call was required for access to AOL, CompuServe, etc. I believe you will love your x2 access. The speed difference was terrific my only problem is I do not have an x2 modem in my lap top when I want to use dial-up. I have an x2 external sitting here unused for the moment. I will give it to my son when he goes to college this fall. They are great. Glenn
