 NEWS RELEASE
 March 15, 1999

 KIMBERLITE DISCOVERED ON FIRST GEOPHYSICALTARGET

Intertech Minerals Corp., (the "Company"), has been advised by Kennecott Canada Exploration Inc., ("Kennecott"), that volcaniclastic and hypabyssal kimberlite have been encountered in a diamond drill hole testing the first of approximately 30 airborne geophysical targets to be investigated during the C$ 1.2 million 1999 exploration
program on the Afridi Lake property, located in the Lac De Gras area, some 320 km northeast of Yellowknife, N.W.T.

This discovery, designated the Jordan kimberlite, is a strong total field magnetic low anomaly situated at an apparent break in a northwest trending diabase dyke, in the extreme northwest corner of the property, 4.5km due west of the DA 1 - 3 diamond-bearing kimberlites discovered in early 1996. Details of the hole are as
 follows:

Hole: Jordan 99J-2, (Bearing 250 degrees, Inclination -55 degrees)

 meters description
 · 0 - 16.7 : water (2.44m) and overburden
 · 16.7 - 50.9 : volcaniclastic kimberlite
 · 50.9 - 62.5 : biotite schist
 · 62.5 - 77.1: hypabyssal kimberlite
 · 77.1 - 84.4 : diabase

Kimberlite intersected in this hole totals 48.8 meters, (160.2 feet). Samples of the kimberlite will be forwarded to Kennecott's laboratory in Thunder Bay, Ontario, for petrographic and caustic fusion analysis, results of which are expected to be available within four to six weeks.

Kennecott has elected to drill another hole, Jordan 99J-3 from the same set up, at an inclination of -80 degrees; as of midday March 14,1999 this hole was at a depth of 30.2 meters and had intersected 18.2 meters of volcaniclastic kimberlite. The hole continues to be drilled in kimberlite and is expected to be completed in the next two
 days, weather permitting.

A second drill is expected to commence drilling on targets located in the southern portion of the property within the next several days.

Intertech is a Vancouver, B.C. based, VSE listed Canadian diamond exploration company with a 100% beneficial interest in the promising Afridi Lake Diamond Property.(1) The Afridi Lake property, 52,591 hectares, (129,952-acre), is located 80 km southeast of the Ekati Diamond Mine (operated by BHP Diamonds Inc., DiaMet Minerals Corp., et al) and 45 km southeast of the Diavik mine (being developed by
Diavik Diamond Mines Inc. and Aber Resources Ltd.

In late 1998, the Company granted Kennecott Canada Explorations Inc. an option to acquire a undivided 60% interest in the claims. The option may be exercised at any time by Kennecott prior to December 11, 2005, by completing exploration expenditures totaling C$25.0 million or alternatively, by announcing a decision to begin construction
and development of a mine. During the option period, Kennecott will be the project manager.
