Lightspan Signs Largest Software Contract in Company's History
New Jersey School District Makes $2.5 Million Purchase Of Lightspan Achieve Now
SAN DIEGO, Aug. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Lightspan, Inc. (Nasdaq: LSPN - news), a leading provider of quality curriculum-based software and Internet products and services used in schools and homes, announced today that it has signed a $2.5 million contract to provide its Lightspan Achieve Now interactive curriculum software for reading, math, and language arts to the Camden, New Jersey school district.

Lightspan Achieve Now features an award-winning curriculum program and motivating, interactive software aligned to state standards. Lightspan Achieve Now software can run either on a PlayStation® game console attached to a standard television set or a PC, allowing learning to move from the classroom to the home -- so both educators and families can play key roles in students' progress. Research involving more than 26,000 students in over 700 schools documents achievement gains in Reading, Language Arts, and Mathematics, for students using Lightspan materials.
Lightspan Achieve Now will be implemented in 22 elementary schools in the Camden school district. Lightspan and the school district will also employ a strong home deployment program, extending learning opportunities for students and families.
