Moving Forward in the DRC

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--Tenke Mining Corp. (the ``Company'') is pleased to provide an update on the Company's Tenke Fungurume project in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Tenke and option agreement holders BHP and Phelps Dodge have just completed an extended trip to Kinshasa and Lubumbashi to make introductions to new government appointees and to progress negotiations on a Memorandum of Understanding with regards to development of the Tenke Fungurume copper/cobalt
deposits. Follow up meetings are being organized and Tenke is optimistic that an MOU setting the terms for investment and development can be achieved in the near future.

The Tenke Fungurume concessions are located in Katanga Province in the southernmost part of the country. The concessions host large, high-grade copper/cobalt deposits that are world renowned and considered as one of the largest and richest undeveloped copper/cobalt deposits. Resources are in excess of 547 million tonnes grading 3.5% copper and 0.27% cobalt.
