Well, duh. Everything is a choice. However, the economy is in dire straits. Sitting on our hands is not an option.

Still showing your ignorance, I see. Those dollars are going to be stimulative. Now, you can argue that they would be better spent on something else. But it is stupid to argue that they would have no effect.

You seem to have a particular bugaboo about extending unemployment insurance. The fact of the matter is, there are many studies indicating that is a very effective stimulus when there is significant job losses.
